El Fuego Street Food

Eaten from here twice. First time got a habenero chicken chimichanga and for the second time I got the true Mexican burger which was served with chips. The food was just alright and not bad. Not as spicy or as flavourful I would've hoped for and slightly underwhelming with the chimichanga but was cooked well. The burger contained a beef patty which wasn't smashed as stated on the menu and tasted like a standard beef patty you could buy from the supermarket. The chicken fillet in the burger was a lot better and had good flavour and texture. The birria beef was also nice but needed more seasoning. Chips were seasoned well and had good texture. Overall I'd say my biggest gripe would be the price. Items range from £10 and are not meals (except the burgers being served chips) which would've made it slightly more reasonable. The food isn't bad but definitely not worth the price in my opinion. Staff were quite decent and polite so no complaints to customer service.

Food is alright, not bad at all, but not amazing. I felt the portions were a little on the light side given the high price. It’s more expensive than most takeaways in the Huddersfield area, and I wouldn’t mind if I was ordering from a food truck at some venue, but for a takeaway, there’s nothing that makes these £14 burritos worth the money. That’s more than bar burrito in Leeds. I love Mexican so it’s disappointing to know this business likely won’t be in Lindley for long. Just can’t see it being that popular at these prices. If you want people queuing out the door, look at places like Marsden’s chicken. Huge portions and affordable.

Food was nice when we eventually got it! First time ordering from El Fuego and it wasn’t the greatest experience. We ordered our food through the Just Eat app for delivery, which was to arrive within 50 mins………………50 mins go by, and then I get an update saying delivery has been made and enjoy your food…………..we had not received our food! We couldn’t track the delivery as El Fuego use their own drivers. We tried ringing El Fuego, but it was going straight to answer machine – we left a message. We then rang the number on the Just Eat app, which then directed you to the restaurant next door – Home. I explained what had happened and that the number on the app is being directed to their restaurant. The lady I spoke to said that she couldn’t do anything. We then had to drive to El Fuego and, again, explain what had happened! The girl serving, who I might mention, had only been working there for a week, phoned her manager, but all they said was, the food had been delivered and they cannot re-make the order. At this point, I was losing my patient, and I was hangry! A lady from Home restaurant came over, and again, had to explain what had happened. The only nice and understanding person I spoke to that night. The food was re-ordered & made. While this was happening, the nice lady took us over to Home and gave us a complimentary drink while we were waiting for our food. She took my name and number and said she will ask for the manager to give us a call……………………..2 weeks on and I am still waiting for the call………………….not a great experience at all! To top it off, when we eventually brought the food home and started eating, my husband noticed that there was an additional element we ordered was missing, but there was no way we were going back to get this. In summary, nice food but customer service (apart from the nice lady), wasn’t great at all. Also, a hindsight thought…………why didn’t they contact the delivery driver to ask where s/he had delivered the food too……………………just a little thought for you El Fuego for when it does happen again!
